Destination Labrador.
Landcruisers are just that: Cruisers. In stcok form, they don’t go fast, period. So, a decision was made to avoid the 4 lane highway and stick to the 2 tracks to the first stop of our first long trip with the Cruiser : Quebec City, where we introduce Dave to the popular old town area.
Out next pit stop will be in Beaupré where we enjoy a quick self-tour of the Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré basillica.
The amount of details, art work, (and cash… ) involved in building these huge cathedrals is very impressive! Makes you realize just how powerful Catholic religion was in those days.
Next, we move on to our first campsite just out of Baie St-Paul. Soon as we leave Beaupré, we hit a loooong, huge hill that has Marc hesitating between shifting down in second gear or staying in third ! (Out of four). Can you say SLLLLLLOWWW…? But hey, next thing you know, we’re up there and everything is cool.
OK. This may not be the most exotic campsite but the views are awesome in the area. Notice how the weather is finally clearing now that the day is over…?
Well, a little over 240kms driven to this point and so far, so good. No mishaps to report. Cool!
